Dr Thiffault is an accomplished and highly experienced regulatory toxicologist consultant with over 20 years industrial experience in the chemical & pharmaceutical industries and the founder of ToxEssential. Dr. Thiffault has an in-depth understanding of chemical regulation and a broad toxicological expertise focusing on personal care products/cosmetics, Over-The-Counter (OTC) drugs, consumer products and medical devices (feminine hygiene/incontinence products and others) to support compliance/registration in North America and Europe. Dr. Thiffault is a member of the American Board of Toxicology and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Toxicology (DABT) and is a European Registered Toxicologist (ERT) accredited by the Asociación Española de Toxicología (AETOX).

Dr Thiffault’s professional interests span broad areas related to product safety and compliance of consumer products. Dr. Thiffault has held key positions of increasing responsibility including Senior Director of Product Stewardship at Thinx where she implemented a testing program for medical devices (feminine hygiene/incontinence products). At Edgewell, Dr Thiffault held the position of Senior Principal Scientist where she evaluated the safety of Over the Counter (OTC) drugs and cosmetics by applying risk assessment principles. As Director of Product Stewardship at Advansix, Dr. Thiffault implemented processes to ensure regulatory compliance across solvents and food contact materials businesses. Prior to Advansix, Dr Thiffault joined Henkel as Director of Toxicology and provided human risk assessments (toxicology risk assessment (TRA) and LHAMA certification) using modeling tools to support product safety and proof of concept clinical trials for use of adhesives in medical devices, consumer products, and in food packaging.

Dr. Thiffault received a BS degree in Agriculture Chemistry and a PhD in Pharmacology from McGill University, Québec, Montréal. Her work has been published in more than 25 peer-reviewed publications.
